My name is Akinola Babatunde David Jesutomisin Jibola-Michaels, a Final year Software Engineering student at Coventry University. I am 22 years old, of average height. I am 5'10 tall. I am a black African from Nigeria. I am very smart and fit with an athletic body build. i have a brown colored eye and black hair. Primarily, I am a hard working and dedicated student. I’ve always put my best in everything that I’ve done academically. I am not the type of person who gets put up to a big challenge and backs down. I work hard as much as i play hard. I prefer a life that revolves around spontaneity and flexibility rather than schedule and organization. I love to do my things at my own pace, i function well under pressure and i always organize my time well enough to meet deadlines. I am a total pleaser; I’ll rather connect with fewer friends than have a bunch of slight acquaintances.
I love planning my own time rather than allow others plan it for me. I believe in my abilities and I am always proud of my work. I am confident, reliable and trust worthy. I am very good at prioritizing my work. I get along well with almost everybody around me. I have a good communication skill which has helped my inter-personal relationship with others a great deal. I am well cultured and well mannered. I treat as I would like to be treated and i detest cheating and anyone that cheats.
I have always had an interest in the way things work, and since I was young, science has been one of my favorite subjects. My interest in sciences, particularly physics, has developed throughout my time at school, and I enjoy the challenge of using scientific and mathematical ideas when solving everyday problems. From my young age, I have always had this aspiration of being an Engineer because I have always been fascinated about technology and technological gadgets in general.
Although I have enjoyed the challenge that my school-based work has given me, I have always sought to extend my knowledge in these subject areas by considering the application of the theory we learn within the curriculum to the real world. Software engineering encapsulates all these ideas together in one bit and that was why I had no doubt in my mind that I am heading in the right direction.
Outside of school, I enjoy socializing and meeting new people. I believe myself to be honest, reliable and friendly person. My experiences during my post-sixteen studies have enabled me to be independent, organized and self disciplined which proved invaluable in preparing me for life at university. I am a very sociable person who enjoys an entertaining night out. I love music and I am a very good dancer. I have been in a lot of dancing groups and I have won a quite number of dancing competitions.
Apart from socializing another thing I do in my spare time is writing. I love writing poems and articles. I developed this as a little boy. I have written articles for a lot of local new papers and magazines back in Nigeria and I once won the state finals at the annual state essay competition only to come third in the National finals. I am seriously still thinking of a career in writing but it will be by the side of my Engineering Career.
Well I believe myself to be multi-talented because aside writing, singing and dancing, I am also good at sports. I play basketball and soccer very well. I was in my school team in both sports throughout my high school. I once won the best goal keeper three times consecutively in my high school.
Well, basically this is just a brief summary of what I believe my self to be. I am very proactive in what ever I do. I am very focused and determined. What ever I have in mind to achieve, it takes a whole lot to distract me from achieving it. I am a good team player with excellent time management skill. I am a fast learner and I jump at every opportunity to learn something new. I believe exercise is for the body and music if for the soul and lastly, I believe so much in myself.
My Dream Job
My personal dream job is to become a Music Producer. I want to use my knowledge as a Programmer to write advanced music production enhancement application packages or software. I have always loved music as a little boy. All my dreams have been directed towards advanced technology and music. So I just thought it would be great if I could combine both of them together.
I have always dreamed of owning a big business empire which does nothing but producing music software, help artist produce their music and also have a big recording studio where they can do their recording. I have always had interest in Music which made me learn various musical instruments. I play the piano, saxophone and drums very well. I am still learning base guitar. I know quite a lot about music because I sing and I have been in a musical band before and I am presently in my church choir. Despite my knowledge about music, I am still not satisfied. That is why I have decided to go and get a formal degree in music after my degree in software engineering.
I have always believed in doing stuffs that will give me a sense of accomplishment and personal satisfaction rather than things that are money driven. Money is a sort of motivation too but it is not my priority. I have always admired Walter Elias Disney. He once said and I quote “I do not make movies to make money; I make money to make movies.” This has been ringing in my head for years and I turned it into my own and it is as follows; “I will not make Music to make Money but I will make Money to make Music.”
Aside those, every business need profit to be able to grow and still function well. And for a business to continue, you need management skills. That is why I have decided to do my masters in business administration which will equip me well enough for the challenges right in front of me.
